Police in Rautahat district arrested a man on charge of attacking his 38-year-old wife with acid from Chapur in Chandrapur Municipality-4 on Saturday evening.

The name of the 42-year-old accused has not been disclosed.

The accused attacked his wife with acid during a dispute. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Chapur-based Area Police Office nabbed him.

The injured is receiving treatment at Chapur-based Apollo City Hospital. Her health is in stable condition, according to the police.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
