Police arrested a man on charge of raping a 22-year-old girl from Bedkot Municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district on Wednesday night.

The accused has been identified as Chakra Sarki (40), a local resident of Nayagaun Bhagesori Tole in the same municipality.

Sarki allegedly raped the girl while she was going to graze her cattle near Chadhara River. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Sudha-based Police Office nabbed Sarki.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
