Police in Jhapa district arrested a man on charge of raping a 13-year-old minor girl from Arjundhara Municipality-3 on Thursday afternoon.

The accused has been identified as Lok Bahadur Shrestha (45), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.

Shrestha and 48-year-old Om Ghatani, a local resident of the same place allegedly raped the minor. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Sanischare-based Police Office nabbed Shrestha.

Search is on for absconding Ghatani, informed the police.

Meanwhile, a youth has been arrested on charge of raping a 14-year-old minor girl from Parsa district on Thursday morning.

The name of the 18-year-old accused has not been disclosed.

Acting on a tip-off, Ektanga-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed the accused.

Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
