KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently being influenced by a mix of westerly and local winds, with some impact from moisture-laden air coming from the Bay of Bengal.
Rainfall is occurring in various hilly areas, including the Kathmandu Valley. Light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning, has been observed in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
This afternoon, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are likely in certain hilly areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, with a few places in other regions also experiencing rain. Additionally, light snowfall may occur in some mountainous regions.
Tonight, the hilly areas will stay partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain and lightning could affect a few locations in the hilly areas and isolated places elsewhere. Light snowfall is also possible in a few mountainous regions.
The Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions, as the anticipated weather could impact daily activities, agriculture, health, and transport systems, both on the ground and in the air.
