Motorcyclist dies in Kathmandu accident

KATHMANDU: Amit Patuwar, who was injured in a motorcycle accident on the Chisapani road section of Tarkeshwor Municipality–3 in Kathmandu, has died while undergoing treatment.

According to Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 26-year-old Patuwar, a resident of Pusal, Tarakeshwor Municipality, passed away early this morning during treatment at the local City Hospital.

He said, “At around 3:45 a.m., a motorcycle (Ba. Pra. 02–053 Pa 9679) heading from Tinpipley toward Dharmasthali went out of control and hit an electric pole at Tarakeshwor–3, Chisapani. The rider, Amit Patuwar, sustained serious injuries and died during treatment at City Hospital, Tarakeshwor.”

The second rider on the same motorcycle, 20-year-old Samir Patuwar of Tarakeshwor Municipality–3, suffered injuries to his hands, legs, head, and chest.

On doctors’ advice, he has been referred to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for further treatment, SP Subedi added.
