KATHMANDU: The Nagdhunga–Naubise stretch of the Tribhuvan Highway will undergo nightly closures from May 5 to May 14 to facilitate ongoing upgrades on the Nagdhunga–Piplamod road.

The Nagdhunga–Mugling Road Project (Eastern Section) announced that traffic management plans are in place for the duration of the closure. According to Kathmandu District Police Range spokesperson SP Apil Raj Bohara, coordination with authorities is ongoing to ensure effective implementation.

As per the public notice issued in collaboration with the respective District Administration Office, all vehicular movement will be suspended between 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM.

Outbound traffic from Kathmandu will be stopped at the Nagdhunga checkpoint, while inbound traffic from Naubise will be halted at the Khatrapauwa bridge. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes such as the Sitapaila–Bhimdhunga–Ramkot–Dharke or the Samakhushi–Tokha–Gurjebhanjyang–Chhahare–Trishuli–Galchhi roads.

Traffic will resume after 3:00 AM each day, and drivers are urged to maintain lane discipline and refrain from overtaking. Emergency and security vehicles will be exempt from the restrictions.
