PATAN: The youth leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) have drawn the party leadership’s attention to ensure representation of Gen-Z in the party’s upcoming general convention.
The youth leaders shared their proposition to the senior leaders of the NC at the party central office on Saturday, while asking the party to make youth-friendly, vibrant and responsive.
On the occasion, central committee member of Nepal Student’s Union Akash Upreti said the party is going through its critical period and the party is required to ensure participation of the progressive Gen-Z in the upcoming general convention.
The youths have asked the NC leadership to ensure at least 40 percent of their participation in the party committees.
NC Vice-President Dhanraj Gurung received the memo and stated that the demands of the youths were genuine and they would be discussed to incorporate them. “Youths should not be discouraged. Their demands should be addressed. This issue will be discussed,” he assured.
On the occasion, NC leaders Min Bishwakarma and Arjun Narsingh KC viewed that the party would be made robust by bringing youths on board.
