KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the party would participate in the election scheduled for March 5, 2026, and it was irrelevant to press for a special general convention at present.
Speaking at a programme organized at Shobha Bhagawati to mark the 111th birth anniversary of the late NC leader Ganesh Man Singh, he said the Nepali Congress believes in democratic norms and systems. He added the party’s priority is to go before the people and earn their trust through elections as a way to resolve the country’s current crisis.
The recent calls within the party for a special general convention count much since the party’s regular convention is approaching soon, he argued. “The party is engaged in internal preparations to address the demands of the Gen Z movement,” he said, emphasizing the need to incorporate the ideas, energy, and aspirations of the new generation into the party’s structure.
NC leaders, cadres, and local residents gathered at the venue to pay tribute to the veteran leader by garlanding his statue.
