KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Association has strongly objected to the Judicial Council’s recommendation of 27 High Court judges, accusing it of ignoring the constitutional principle of proportional inclusion.

In a statement by General Secretary Kedar Prasad Koirala, the Bar said the appointments lack meaningful representation of women, regions, and communities, weakening public trust in the judiciary.

The Bar also criticized the Council for neglecting its role as a stakeholder and said judicial reforms have become mere symbolic documents.

Reiterating its demands, it called for transparent, objective criteria, full implementation of inclusion, and annulment of the amended Council regulations.

It warned it will not accept any future appointments unless these are addressed.
