Nepal Police operates free bus service amid transport strike

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police on Monday introduced two buses to assist passengers amid a disruption in public transportation caused by a transport entrepreneurs’ strike.

Following the halt of public transport services due to the protest, Nepal Police has deployed two buses on separate routes.

Passengers traveling in these buses do not need to pay any fare.

First Route: The bus will run through Naxal, Baluwatar, Teaching Hospital, Chakrapath, New Bus Park, Balaju, Swayambhu, Kalanki, Balkhu, Satdobato, Lagankhel, Jawalakhel, Thapathali, Maitighar, Putalisadak, Jai Nepal Hall, and back to Naxal.

Second Route: This bus will operate from Naxal through Ratopul, Chabahil, Gaushala, Airport, Koteshwor, Thimi, Sallaghari, and Suryabinayak, before returning via Chabahil, Sukedhara, Chakrapath, Teaching Hospital, Baluwatar, and back to Naxal.

The strike began today after transport entrepreneurs launched a protest with a seven-point demand, including the cancellation of the ride-sharing regulations introduced by the Gandaki Province government.
