KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in India has called for an impartial investigation into the death of Prisa Sah, an 18-year-old Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha.
In a statement, the embassy confirmed it had summoned KIIT officials and been in contact with Odisha’s Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, and other authorities, urging a transparent investigation.
The embassy also emphasized its ongoing communication with Indian authorities, the Nepali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the student’s family.
It stressed the need to ensure the safety of Nepali students at the institute. Prisa, a first-year student, was found hanging in her hostel room. The embassy was informed of the incident on Thursday.
