KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of both westerly and local wind systems, along with some impact from moist air entering from the Bay of Bengal.

At present, hilly regions are experiencing mostly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country is seeing clear to partly cloudy skies. Isolated incidents of thunderstorms and lightning have been observed in parts of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

The weather is expected to become partly to mostly cloudy across the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in several hilly areas, especially in Koshi Province, and in a few other isolated spots nationwide.

There is also a possibility of light rain and snowfall in some mountainous regions.

During the night, hilly areas will continue to see partly to mostly cloudy skies, while other regions will remain mainly clear to partly cloudy. Light rain and thunderstorms may occur at isolated locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Likewise, sporadic light rain and snowfall are also expected in the mountainous zones of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.
