KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has increased by 14 points to stand at 2590.29 points. On Wednesday, while the share prices of 191 companies rose, 64 companies saw a decline, and 19 companies remained stable. Although the market remained green throughout Wednesday, the transaction amount decreased.
While transactions worth Rs 8.41 took place on Tuesday, shares worth Rs 4.17 billion were traded on Wednesday. Most of the sub-indices increased. Among the companies with high transaction volumes on Wednesday, Siddhartha Bank, Ankhukhola Hydropower, Corporate Development Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, and NRN Infrastructure are ahead.
The development bank sub-index increased the most by 1.37 percent. Banking increased by 0.74 percent, finance by 0.50 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.61 percent, hydropower by 0.47 percent, life insurance by 0.54 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.57 percent, microfinance by 0.27 percent, non-life insurance by 1.03 percent, others by 0.37 percent, and trading by 0.60 percent. Investment decreased by 0.46 percent.
The share price of Narayani Development Bank increased by 8.40 percent, Threestar Hydropower by 6.21 percent, Sagar Distillery by 6.03 percent, and Bhujung Hydropower by 4.72 percent. The share price of Upakar Laghubitta decreased by 7.32 percent, Corporate Development by 3.06 percent, and Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta by 3 percent.
