KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has kept its complaint registration and emergency monitoring services active during the Dashain holidays through its central office in Lalitpur and all 11 regional offices nationwide.

According to NHRC spokesperson Tikaram Pokharel, the Janakpur Provincial Office has so far received one complaint of human rights violation, which was immediately monitored.

The commission has also urged the government to remain vigilant against possible challenges during festivals, including difficulties in public mobility, a rise in crime, inflation and black-marketing, and disruptions in service delivery and supply management.
