KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has drawn the government’s attention to recent political developments and the planned demonstrations by the Gen Z youth groups in the coming days.

In a statement issued by NHRC Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Dr. Tikaram Pokharel, the commission expressed concern over remarks made by political parties, individuals, and various groups, warning that such statements could affect peace and security.

It has instructed the government to take necessary actions with restraint and prudence.

The NHRC noted that violent activities, targeted negative comments, and hate speech could disturb social harmony and further cloud the political environment.

The commission stressed that such tendencies could adversely impact peace, security, and the rule of law, emphasizing that finding a way out of the transitional phase remains the shared responsibility of both the state and citizens.
