CHITWAN: At least Nine people injured during the Gen Z protest held on September 8–9 have received relief and identity cards.

Assistant Chief District Officer Chudamani Sharma Gautam said two more names were recommended to the Ministry of Home Affairs for relief assistance.

Although the total number of injured during the protest in the district is 142, only eleven have so far approached the authority for compensation.

According to him, the expected number of injured individuals has not come forward for the relief. “Some have said they were only slightly injured and therefore did not feel the need to visit authority for any compensation,” he added.

The district administration has also urged the Gen Z leaders in the district to submit written details of the injured ones. The government has decided to provide Rs 20,000 as financial assistance to those receiving injury in the Gen Z protest.
