KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairperson and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday visited his Balkot residence in Bhaktapur, which was set on fire during the Gen Z movement on September 9.

This was Oli’s first visit to the site since both of his houses in Balkot were torched amid the protests.

Expressing outrage, Oli said the attack destroyed property that had already been handed over to the government, calling it a “shameful assault on public assets.”

Oli, who was accompanied by his wife Radhika Shakya, accused the government led by Sushila Karki of protecting those involved in the crime instead of taking action.

Earlier, Radhika Shakya had visited the burnt house alone. The couple is currently residing in Gundu, Bhaktapur.
