Police arrested a man on the charge of killing his wife in Deumai Municipality-4 of Ilam district, on Friday.

The arrested has been identified as Tak Bahadur Tamang (45) of Okhre in Bhojpur district, who had been residing in a rented room in Chinne.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of security personnel deployed from Mangalbare-based Area Police Office arrested Tamang who allegedly struck his wife with a sharp weapon in a dispute.

Meanwhile, investigation into the incident is underway, police informed.
