CHITWAN: A road accident in the Tikauli forest section of the East-West Highway has left one person dead and nine others injured.

The collision occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Ratnanagar-9, Tikauli, when a mini-bus (Ba 3 Kha 9986) heading from Narayangadh to Tandi collided head-on with a car (Ba Ba 5008) coming from the opposite direction.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabindra Khanal, 33-year-old Pooja Subedi, a resident of Ratnanagar-10 who was traveling in the bus, died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.

Nine passengers were injured in the collision.The injured are being treated at various hospitals in Chitwan.

Police said Subedi was crushed in the vehicle and succumbed to her injuries shortly after being taken to the hospital.
