KATHMANDU: Between Jestha 15 and Asar 16 (May 29 to June 30), Nepal recorded 674 monsoon-related disaster incidents, resulting in 31 deaths and 112 injuries, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
Among these, 87 landslide incidents led to partial damage to 25 houses and complete destruction of 11 houses.
One bridge, seven sheds, and 14 livestock were also lost. Landslides caused an estimated financial loss of Rs 22.1 million.
Additionally, 64 flood incidents resulted in four deaths and four injuries, highlighting the growing human and material toll of early monsoon impacts in Nepal.
