KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, accompanied by key government officials, is set to visit Rasuwa to evaluate the destruction caused by the devastating Bhote Koshi River flood.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak confirmed that the inspection team will conduct a ground assessment of the flood-affected areas in Rasuwa on Tuesday.

“The damage in Rasuwa is extensive. We will first conduct a ground assessment and then hold a meeting to make necessary decisions,” Home Minister Lekhak stated ahead of the visit.

The flood, originating from the northern border with China, destroyed the Miteri Bridge linking Nepal and China via Rasuwagadhi border point.

Authorities report at least 18 people missing following the disaster.

Rescue operations are ongoing amid rising concerns about infrastructure damage, missing persons, and disrupted trade links with China.
