KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Shrawan 15, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli extended best wishes to all Nepalis, expressing hope that everyone’s life would be as sweet as “kheer” (rice pudding), a traditional dish enjoyed during this day.
He stated that Shrawan 15 is traditionally celebrated after the completion of rice plantation season, and the festival reflects Nepal’s cultural values, harmony, and sense of community.
Posting on Facebook, Oli wrote that this celebration is linked to Nepal’s agrarian and pastoral heritage, and the sweetness of kheer symbolizes the unity and cultural richness of Nepali society.
