The Prithvi Highway has been blocked due to landslides caused by rains. The highway has been blocked on both sides after a landslide at Ichchakamana-4 Ghoptebhir in Chitwan at around 2 pm.
According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, coordination is underway with the Road Department to prevent more landslides. Roads have been blocked by landslides in the area since the onset of rains.
The Prithvi Highway has been blocked since last night due to a landslide in Galchi located in Galchi Village Municipality Ward No. 7. Ward Chairman of Galchi-7 Hari Khatiwada informed that the landslide prevention work is underway with the joint efforts of the Road Department and locals.
There is a 10 km long queue due to non-operation of vehicles right now. Similarly, traffic on Naubise-Nagdhunga road has been disrupted due to vehicle breakdown.
