KATHMANDU: The prohibitory order and curfew have been extended in the Kathmandu Valley for the security of people and property.
The Nepali Army (NA) has imposed prohibitory order effective from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Friday, while the curfew will be in force from 7:00pm Friday to 6:00am Saturday.
The decision was taken after the meeting of the security committees of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts.
For the convenience to conduct essential activities, time from 6:00am to 11:00am, and from 5:00pm to 7:00pm is allocated on Friday, according to the NA Public Relations and Information Directorate.
During the restriction and curfew enforcement, essential service vehicles (ambulance, hearse, fire engine, and vehicles for food supply, milk, water, and medicine and media, health workers) would be allowed running.
The employees of government offices, National Human Rights Commission, banking and financial institutions can produce their original identity cards to go to offices.
Those who have purchased flight tickets can move to airports showing tickets.
For the convenience, everyone is requested to coordinate with nearby security persons/offices.
Similarly, in case of the districts outside the Kathmandu Valley, the related district security committees will make the decisions.
The NA has appealed to all sides to extend cooperation to the security persons for the sake of security and humanitarian rescue.
In the allocated time, people are requested not to conduct any activity like rally, demonstration and picketing except essential works of religious and cultural rites.
