KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall and ongoing road maintenance have disrupted transport services across several major highways in the country.
According to Nepal Police data collected up to 9:00 AM today, multiple road sections in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpashchim provinces remain completely blocked, while others are restricted to one-way traffic.
The Rajduwali section of the Mechi Highway in Ilam Municipality-9 remains completely blocked due to a landslide that triggered on June 27.
Meanwhile, on the Mid-Hill Highway, flooding at Bokhim in Bhojpur Municipality-5 has restricted traffic to one-way, with local authorities arranging alternative routes.
Additionally, all vehicular movement remains prohibited on the Khurkot–Nepalthok–Katunjebensi section of the BP Highway due to potential flood risks—a restriction that has been in place since June 5.
In the Bagmati Province, the Kulekhani–Phakhel–Humane–Pharping road leading to Kathmandu has been completely closed for road maintenance, which is expected to last for about a month.
Furthermore, a fresh landslide triggered today at Panikhola in Panchadeval Binayak Municipality-4 has completely halted transport services along that section of the Mid-Hill Highway.
