Police in Surkhet district on Wednesday arrested a man who had been absconding since long from Birendranagar Municipality-2. The man was accused of child marriage and rape.

The accused has been identified as Tek Bahadur Nepali (27), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.

The Supreme Court had sentenced him to a jail term of one year and four days on charge of child marriage and rape. Surkhet-based District Police Office (DPO) security personnel nabbed him.

He will be presented in the Surkhet District Court for the execution of the verdict, informed DPO, Surkhet.
