RASUWA: Following the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River on Asar 24 (July 8), security personnel have safely transported 485 affected individuals to their destinations.
With the Syafrubesi–Rasuwagadhi road section blocked, a team from the Armed Police Force (APF) constructed a temporary foot trail to rescue the stranded citizens.
According to the APF, two containers and an electric vehicle that were stuck at the Rasuwagadhi customs yard due to the flood have also been shifted to a safer location.
Although the flood caused damage to life and infrastructure in the border area, timely rescue efforts prevented further loss.
Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Arjun Paudel, informed that 91 Nepali nationals stranded in Kerung, China, were also rescued and sheltered by the Chinese government.
Those citizens have been provided with necessary food and accommodation in Kerung. “Until the situation normalizes, they will be safely kept there,” said Paudel.
He highlighted the active assistance of Chinese security personnel in the rescue efforts and emphasized the importance of coordination between the authorities of both countries.
