RASUWA: Two additional bodies have been recovered after the devastating flood that struck Lhende Stream on the night of July 8.
According to the Armed Police Force, the bodies were found near Kalikhola in Ichchhakamana-6, Chitwan, and Barrage Bridge in Binayi Tribeni-7, Nawalpur.
Security personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police continue search operations along the banks of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers for others still missing.
An alternative route was created by the Armed Police Force to rescue 143 people stranded by the flood, while 12 more were airlifted to safety by private helicopters.
Meanwhile, 91 Nepali citizens stranded in Kerung, China, have been provided shelter and food through coordination with Chinese authorities.
Four electric vehicles and four container trucks from Rasuwa Customs and Timure yard have been relocated to safer areas with the help of backloaders.
Communication and electricity have been restored in the affected region. A meeting of the District Disaster Management and Security Committees mobilized agencies for full restoration efforts.
Efforts are also underway to reopen the blocked Syafrubesi–Rasuwagadhi road using heavy equipment from local hydropower projects.
The flood swept away 20 people, including three security personnel, 14 Nepalis, and six Chinese nationals.
So far, six bodies and five human body parts have been recovered. Only one body has been identified.
The remaining remains are being kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
