A rhino was found dead in the western belt of the Chitwan National Park (CNP). Information Officer of the CPN, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, said the male rhino was found dead in a forest of Gundrayidhaka community forest at Amaltari area in Nawalpur.
The hooves and horn of the rhinos are safe, it is said. The officials have assumed that the rhino died of natural causes due to old age.
Likewise, a technical team has been deployed to the site for investigations.
An estimated two-year-old rhinoceros has been found dead near Kavretal near Baghmara Post in Chitwan National Park.
Information Officer of the park Ganesh Prasad Tiwari informed that the rhino died due to the attack of a tiger. He said that the hooves of the rhinos were safe and it had no horn due to its age. Two poachers and 22 rhinos have died in the park in the current fiscal year due to natural causes.
