KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted overcast conditions and possible rainfall across several parts of the country this Friday.

As per the forecast, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy across the country during the afternoon. Light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in some hilly areas—particularly in Koshi Province—and may occur at isolated spots in other regions as well.

Mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may also experience light rain or snowfall.

Tonight, the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, while skies in other areas will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Light rain with thunder or lightning is possible at a few locations in the hilly parts of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, along with chances of light snowfall or rain in nearby mountainous areas.

The prevailing weather conditions are influenced by westerly and local wind systems, along with moisture-laden air flowing in from the Bay of Bengal.
