SINDHULI: The Sindhuli section of the Midhill (Madhya Pahadi) Highway has been obstructed.

The highway has remained blocked since Saturday morning after a landslide and mudslide accumulated debris on the road.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surya Prakash Subedi of the Sindhuli District Police Office informed that the highway was blocked at Akarebheer in Golanjor Rural Municipality-6 due to mudslides.

According to him, a six-wheeler truck (registration number Na 7 Kha 7890) carrying 11 buffaloes from Okhaldhunga to Kathmandu got stuck in the muddy section of the highway because of continuous overnight rainfall.

Efforts are underway to remove the truck. Additionally, three other trucks have been held at various points along the highway.

Another landslide has fallen onto the road at Baleni of Golanjor-6, further obstructing the Midhill Highway. Due to the road blockage, vehicles plying the Khurkot-Ghurmi section have been stopped at Khurkot.

Vehicles traveling from Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, and other eastern districts towards the federal capital, Kathmandu, will have to wait for some time.

Police stated that efforts are ongoing to clear the landslide debris and mud from the road.

Continuous rainfall has been occurring in Sindhuli since last night.
