KAILALI: n its bid to promote tourism activities in the province, the 19th edition of the Sudurpaschim Mahotsav began in Dhangadhi of Kailali on Monday.

The event is being organized by the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the theme of ‘Tourism, Culture, Industry and Trade: Basis for Prosperous Sudurpaschim’.

Chair of the Association, Pushkar Raj Ojha, shared that the fair is expected to promote and expand tourism, agriculture, industry and trade related businesses in the province as well as promote the culture and arts adding that this province carries immense development potentials.

The fair is expected to witness a business transaction of Rs 150 million. Ojha said that the fair has some 500 stalls of agricultural products, medicinal herbs, handicraft, furniture, automobile, garment, electronics goods, hospitality and information technology sectors.

The event will continue till December 17.
