Police arrested a youth on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl in Beni Municipality of Myagdi district, on Sunday.

The arrested has been identified as Sohan Chhinal (20) of Pulachaur in Beni-5. 

Acting on the complaint that Chhinal raped the girl, a team of security personnel deployed from Myagdi District Police office arrested him on Sunday evening.

Similarly, police in Bardiya district on Sunday arrested another youth for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Rajapur Municipality-10.

The arrestee has been identified as Bishnu Tharu (20) of Bangalipur in Madhuwan Municipality-2 in the district. 

Tharu, who had been working at Jhundipur-based Gajurmukhi Crusher Industry allegedly raped the girl on Friday. Security personnel deployed from the Rajapur-based Area Police Office arrested Tharu.

Meanwhile, police in Morang district arrested a 27-year-old man on the charge of raping an eight-year-old girl in Kerabari Rural Municipality.

The accused has been identified as Surya Kumar Rai (27) of Patigaun in Kerabari -2.

Acting on the tip-off about Thursday’s heinous crime, security personnel deployed from Kerabari-based Area Police Office arrested Rai on Sunday.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the cases is underway, said the police.
