RASUWA: Heavy rainfall in China’s Tibet region has caused a major flood in the Trishuli River.
Due to the flooding, water levels have risen significantly in areas around Uttargaya of Rasuwa and the Trishuli 3B hydropower site in Kispang.
With the water flow increasing in the Rasuwagadhi region as well, authorities have urged people to remain alert.
On July 8, a similar flood had washed away the Miteri Bridge at Rasuwagadhi and caused significant human and physical damage.
Rasuwa’s Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruba Prasad Adhikari stated that a massive flood has entered Nepal through the Rasuwagadhi border area and advised residents living in the lower coastal areas to stay alert.
The District Disaster Management Committee and the local disaster response team under Uttargaya Rural Municipality have already been mobilized.
The rural municipality and police administration have called on the public to immediately cooperate with and implement the issued safety advisories.
