NAWALPUR: The Daunne section of the East-West Highway in Nawalpur has been operating one-way since Thursday morning due to slippery conditions caused by light rain.
According to Nawalpur Police, vehicles have been allowed to move in one direction only after light rainfall made the road surface slick near Bishwakarma Temple and the uphill stretch at Ghiukhola in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality–2, making it difficult for vehicles to climb.
The situation worsened from 7:30 a.m. as ongoing road expansion work has further complicated traffic movement.
Continuous light rainfall has been reported across the district since early morning.
Freight vehicles are unable to move uphill due to the muddy and slippery road condition.
However, police confirmed that travel remains smooth on other sections of the Narayangadh–Butwal road except for the Daunne area, where construction and weather have disrupted normal traffic flow.
