KAHMANDU: Vehicular movement has resumed on the BP Highway after a landslide was cleared.

The highway had been blocked in both directions on Wednesday night after a landslide occurred at Mamti, Rosi Rural Municipality–12 of Kavre district.

According to the District Police Office, Kavre, traffic reopened on Thursday morning following the removal of debris with the help of an excavator.

The BP Highway, which was severely damaged by last year’s floods, still faces a high risk of landslides and flooding. Considering the danger, local authorities have continued to restrict night-time travel along the road.
