KAVRE: The BP Highway, which had been blocked due to continuous rainfall-triggered floods and landslides, has now been reopened.

The road was cleared and brought back into operation after removing debris from eight locations where floods and landslides had occurred.

The blockage had been caused by heavy rainfall on Monday night, affecting areas including Pinthali Besi of Roshi Rural Municipality-9, Phedikhola and Sangkhola in Biruwadanda of Mangaltar, Kaldhunga in Roshi Rural Municipality-11, and Mamti Khola at the border of Roshi-11 and 12.

The road was cleared and made operational with the help of the Department of Roads and a construction company.

Similarly, landslides at Piple in Roshi and near Panitare were also removed. Damaged road sections at Barkhe Khola, along the Kavre-Sindhuli border, were repaired following the overflow.

The highway had remained blocked since 8 PM on Monday. Frequent blockages along the BP Highway have been causing difficulties for travelers.

The route has experienced repeated disruptions in several areas in recent weeks.
