JHAPA: Traffic on the East-West Highway in Bhalukhola, Jhapa, has resumed after 35 hours following the reconstruction of a diversion damaged by floods caused by continuous rainfall since Saturday.
Work to rebuild the diversion had been underway since Sunday.
After the flood washed away the East-West Highway diversion, vehicles had been using alternative inner roads to travel.
Traffic returned to its original route from 11:00 AM on Monday.
Construction of the diversion was carried out intensively from early morning with two JCBs and other necessary equipment.
With the rainfall subsiding, daily life in Jhapa is gradually returning to normal.
