KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport has been shut down indefinitely.
According to a notice issued by the Tribhuvan International Airport Civil Aviation Office on Wednesday, the airport will remain closed until further notice.
The decision was taken citing the ongoing prohibitory orders, curfew across the country, and the difficult situation following recent destruction.
The office also stated that heavy smoke in and around the airport’s flight path had increased risks.
Due to potential threats to aviation safety, the authorities said they were compelled to close the airport for an indefinite period.
