KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan University (TU) and the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) have announced re-examinations after answer sheets were destroyed in fires during the recent Gen Z movement.
At TU, 652 students’ answer sheets from three examination centers were burned.
The Central Examination Steering Committee of TU, in its meeting on October 8, decided to cancel and reconduct the affected exams.
The respective campuses have been instructed to notify students of the rescheduled exams.
Similarly, CTEVT reported that 14,700 answer sheets from diploma, certificate, and pre-diploma level exams were burned during the protests.
The re-exams are scheduled to begin from November 20, and the destroyed papers had been kept at a police office for safekeeping.
Both TU and CTEVT emphasized that the re-examinations aim to ensure students’ academic progress is not disrupted due to the unrest.
