MUSTANG: The district-based Tourism and Industry Office, and Social Development Office of the Gandaki Province were merged on Sunday. The merger comes into effect following the province government’s decision made early this fiscal year.

The Tourism and Industry Office under the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, and the Social Development Office under the Ministry of Youth and Sports were merged to provide service delivery as an integrated service office from the Social Development Office, Office Chief Nirpati Darji said.

The integrated service office has run its service delivery from the office building of the former Tourism and Industry Office, according to Darji.

The Gandaki Province Government had dissolved seven directorates aiming to apply austerity measures and ensure integrated service delivery by merging the offices of similar types in the province.

The province government has downsized 32 different offices to 17 in the province.
