Police in Kanchanpur district on Monday afternoon arrested two youths in possession of 9.80gm of heroin from Pachui in Belauri Municipality-8.

The arrested have been identified as Surendra Bista (28) and Santosh Rana (22), both residents of Geta in Godavari Municipality-5 in Kailali district.

They were riding on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number SU-PA-PRA 01-008 PA 859. Security personnel deployed from the Belauri-based Area Police Office nabbed them with the substances during a routine vehicle check.

Meanwhile, Bara police on Monday night recovered 60kg of cannabis from Bumjor in Nijgadh Municipality-12.

Ratanpur-based Temporary Police Post security personnel seized the cannabis from an auto-rickshaw with vehicle registration number PRA NO 2-03-001 HA 321 during a routine vehicle check.

The police are looking for the absconding auto driver.

Meanwhile, further investigation into both cases is underway, informed the police.
