Two killed, five injured in Rukum East accident

RUKUM EAST: Two members of the same family were killed and five others injured in an autorickshaw accident at Panchase in Bhume Rural Municipality–1, Rukum East.

The accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday when an auto (Ra 1 Ha 6797) heading from Lugum to Brahat fell off the Mid-Hill Highway, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umashankar Prasad Yadav of the District Police Office.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Rejina Gharti and 25-year-old Sabita Gharti, both residents of Bhume–1. They were sisters-in-law.

Police said doctors at Rukum East Hospital declared them dead upon arrival. Their bodies have been kept at the Rukumkot Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The injured have been identified as 26-year-old Pratiksha Budha, her 11-month-old son Subham Budha, 25-year-old Beauty Pun, her 2-year-old daughter Samriddhi Pun, and 3-year-old Sakchyam Gharti.

Police reported that all five have been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.
