TANAHUN: Two women were found dead on Thursday, one in the Seti River and another in the Buldi Khola, according to the District Police Office.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa informed that the body of an elderly woman, estimated to be around 55–60 years old, was discovered on the bank of the Seti River at Deuralinagar, Byas Municipality-3.
Acting on a tip from locals, police recovered the body and sent it to Province Hospital Damauli for postmortem. The woman’s identity remains unknown as no family or relatives have been traced so far.
Similarly, another woman, aged around 30–35, was found in Buldi Khola at Talghare, Byas Municipality-1, beneath the concrete bridge leading to Dihi village.
She was rescued from the water and rushed to Province Hospital Damauli, where doctors declared her dead. Police said the body has been kept at the hospital for postmortem and identification is yet to be confirmed.
