Police in Siraha district on Tuesday night arrested a youth on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl in Karjanha Municipality-11.

The arrestee has been identified as Guneshwor Singh (37) of Bagaha in Karjanha-11. 

A team of security personnel deployed from Bandipur-based Area Police Office reached the incident site and arrested Singh who had been held in captive by the relatives of the victim.

Police said the relatives of the victim had held Singh in the act of committing the heinous crime. 

Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway, said police.
