Police in Darchula district Wednesday arrested a youth in possession of three kilograms of contraband yarshagumba in Duhu Rural Municipality-3.

The arrested has been identified as Gresh Singh Kunwar (24) of Sina in Vyans Municipality-3 in Darchula.

Security personnel deployed from the Bhrahmadev-based police post arrested Kunwar after he was found carrying yarshagumba. Kunwar was hiking down the road towards Khalanga, Darchula district headquarters, in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Kunwar and the seized caterpillar fungi have been handed over to Apinampa Conservation Area, Darchua for necessary actions, informed the police.
