KATHMANDU: With the resignation of Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama, the process to appoint a new Chief Minister has been initiated.

On Monday, Province Head Deepak Prasad Devkota announced the acceptance of Lama’s resignation as per Article 169(1)(a) of the Constitution of Nepal.

He also called for claims to appoint a new Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168(2) of the Constitution.

Members of the Provincial Assembly who can secure a majority with the support of two or more parties represented in the assembly have been invited to submit their claims for the Chief Minister’s position by 2 PM on Tuesday, August 5.
