HETAUDA: The Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party of Bagmati Province has passed a no-confidence motion against its own leader and current Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama.
In the internal vote held within the party’s provincial parliamentary faction, 22 lawmakers voted against Lama, while 15 supported him.
The Nepali Congress has a total of 37 members in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
With the passage of the motion at the parliamentary party level, the leadership is expected to shift, paving the way for Indra Bahadur Baniya to stake his claim for the Chief Minister’s post.
