KATHMANDU: Former Nepal Army Lieutenant General Balananda Sharma officially took the oath of office as the Foreign Minister of Nepal on Friday.
The ceremony was conducted by President Ram Chandra Paudel at Shital Niwas, following Sharma’s appointment by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
The event was attended by the vice president, prime minister, chief justice, and various high-ranking officials.
Sharma, a seasoned military strategist with extensive experience in international peacekeeping, is expected to lead Nepal’s diplomatic efforts during the sensitive transition period.
His appointment fills a critical vacancy in the cabinet as the government prepares for the national elections.
