KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel has said that, following the Gen Z movement, the responsibility now lies in establishing a party that is united with the younger generation.

Extending best wishes on the occasion of Constitution Day, Paudel—who is also a former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister—stated that the main reason behind the Gen Z movement was the failure to understand and address the aspirations, frustrations, and anger of the youth, as well as the lack of effective corruption control, good governance, and improvements in service delivery.

“Now, we have the responsibility to establish the party as one united with the people, especially the youth generation—where youth power plays a decisive role in policymaking and leadership development, and acts as a driving force for dynamism and change,” he said.

“Accordingly, I believe the party’s organization, working style, and conduct will undergo change,” he added.

He also mentioned that a serious review would be conducted regarding UML’s past decisions, actions, and their results.

Personally, he apologized for any mistakes, weaknesses, or errors he committed in the past.
